The Logan's Hammer Way: Frequently Asked Questions
(Answered by owner, Sean Meek)
What separates Logan's Hammer from other contractors?
What separates Logan’s Hammer (LH) from other contractors is our genuine belief that the customer is number one. I’ve always told my employees: You have to be an outstanding builder and possess a great eye for detail just to call yourself a contractor. What makes you Logan’s Hammer quality is sharing in the passion for the product we deliver and a desire to provide unsurpassed customer service and follow up.
Another thing that differentiates us is our three year warranty. Once the job is complete, your three year warranty immediately kicks in and we’re still just a phone call away to help you with anything that may come up. Not only that, but our clients become our friends and we’ve developed many relationships that continue to grow throughout the years, long past the warranty expiration.
Do I need to have an architect involved?
In most cases, an architect is required to take your vision and turn it into plans, which are necessary for permitting. At Logan’s Hammer, we enjoy working with the architects as they handle the design portion of the project, transforming the visions that clients have in their mind and turning them into designs on paper for all to see. Working with an architect gives us a clear direction and plan so that we can make your vision a reality. If our client doesn’t have an architect already, there are several firms Logan’s Hammer works with regularly, but we’re always eager to collaborate with new firms as well.
At what stage does Logan's Hammer become involved in the project?
We try to get involved in the project as early as possible. What’s worked well for our past clients is having a team approach. Working as a team, we partner up with you and an architect (either selected by you or recommended by us) at the onset of the design phase. This way we can all work together to fully understand your vision and we can work efficiently toward the same goals. Involving the architect and the builder early in the process also keeps your design in line with the budget and helps expedite the building process.
What can I expect my job site to look like on a daily basis?
The appearance of our job sites is a direct reflection of Logan’s Hammer. We take pride in assuring you that your project will be kept clean, orderly and secure at all times. It is my personal belief that a clean and organized building site is crucial to achieving a high quality product.
How involved is my project manager?
Each project will have a Project Manager assigned to lead the job from inception through the final punch list. In addition to maintaining the daily production and ensuring the quality of our product, our experienced managers will be your primary point of contact. Keeping an open line of communication, our PMs are always available to answer any questions or address concerns or changes throughout the entire building process. We understand that the relationship between Project Manager and homeowner is a critical part of a successful project, which is why we’ve only hired the best!
Does Logan's Hammer take steps to recycle and reuse building materials and
waste; and how?
Logan’s Hammer is committed to reducing waste and recycling as much as possible through all phases of our projects. We donate all usable items that are removed from the site to Habitat for Humanity. If Habitat for Humanity cannot accept an item, we give it to a salvage company such as Re-Store (create Link) for resale. We also take any general construction waste to one of the local construction waste recyclers for sorting and proper recycling.
Additionally, all concrete is brought to a concrete recycler for reuse.
What is the credibility of the sub contractors Logan's Hammer hires for my
remodel?
We’ve built long term relationships with most of the sub-contractors we use. All are screened for proper licenses and insurance and they have signed contracts with Logan’s Hammer agreeing to our expectations. We believe that anyone, whether a sub-contractor, laborer or anyone else, working on our jobs is an extension of Logan’s Hammer and is therefore required to present themselves to the same standard we maintain. In addition, the homeowners’ Project Manager is on site daily supervising all sub-contractors to make certain our requirements are being met. All work performed on a Logan’s Hammer jobsite is covered by our personal warranty regardless of whether the work was done by a Logan’s Hammer employee or a sub-contractor.
